The World is Not Random, You Just Don’t Get String Theory Quite Yet But There is Still Hope
Many people see civilization and society as totally random, completely chaotic, and sometimes out of control. Indeed, it seems as if the more we try to control it, the more freedoms we take away from everyone, and the less happy everyone is. And yet, if things get too crazy, we have protests in the streets, food shortages, fuel shortages, and a tremendous number of people experiencing discontent, and a disconnection from their fellow man and their government.
But, the world is not random, there is a certain order to things, and everything that happens affects something else. Many believe we cannot predict the future because of this perception of randomness, and whereas, that might be true, it also might not be true. As we learn more about string theory, and/or quantum mechanics, we may see the beauty in complex systems and chaos, and how they go hand-in-hand and work together; and how you cannot have one without the other.
Now then, sometimes with all the little details, it seems nearly impossible to organize, systematize, and control your life, not to mention the lives of every other person in our society, or the flows of all that affects our civilization. But just because the human mind cannot comprehend, or put together all the details in a fashion that helps us better understand it, that doesn’t mean that it is not understandable. Nor should it lead anyone to believe that life is random, and therefore, everything in the world is also random.
The reality is we can’t know that yet, but we may figure it all out someday. And when that some day comes I think we are all going to be very shocked at what we learn. In fact, it will change a lot of people’s philosophical view on life, and change the way we judge all that we see each and every day. Please consider all this, think of it as the philosophical thought for today.
