WoW Druid Guide – Hybrids With Style
The most popular hybrid class in the World of Warcraft definitely is the Druid class. Many WoW players will tell you that the Druid class is one of the most fun classes to play. If you choose to play a Druid on the Alliance side your choice of races will be limited on Night Elves while on the Horde side you can only choose the Tauren race. With so many different abilities Druids are mostly famous for their shape-shifting.
They have many forms they can turn themselves into and the basic ones are Cat, Bear, Travel and Sea Lion form. With the Burning Crusade expansion flying skill was introduced to all the WoW players. With the level 70 all classes were able to get a flying mount. However, the druids got their flight form, which is an instant cast, on level 68. Druid can be a really good dps as a caster, healer, tank or a melee dps and therefore his talent tree is divided into three branches – Balance, Feral Combat and Restoration.
With the Balance tree a Druid can become a caster dps well-known as Moonkin. When shape-shifted into Moonkin he will give his party members +5% on the critical strike rating and therefore all other caster classes will have him in favor. A Moonkin, or as popularly called “Boomkin” is a typical mana user. He uses a few spells in rotation together with two DoTs to accomplish a really good dps in raids. He also has a few AoE spells – Starfall,
Typhoon and Hurricane. His gear needs to have a lot of spell power, crit, hit and haste rating and with his dps, a Moonkin can parry any other caster dps in raid. With Feral Combat a druid can choose to become either a tank or melee dps. His bear form will grant him extra armor and HP and he can become a good tank, while in cat form he can be such a strong melee dps that he will fill be on top of the damage meter.
With his talent points in the Restoration tree, a druid will get another special form – the tree form. While in the tree form druid’s spells will cost him less mana and the overall healing will be enhanced for 6% done by anybody to anybody in the same raid group. A druid healer is the ultimate Healing over Time (HoT) healer and therefore he is very much appreciated in raids. His gear needs to have a lot of spirit and spell power and therefore healing druids are known for their ability to regenerate mana very fast.
When it comes to armor a Druid can wear both cloth and leather. Wearing cloth is not advisable since leather armors have better stats. Cloth can be of use to healing druids and Moonkins since they usually don’t take any close damage unlike Druid tanks and melee. For a Druid tank it is of the essence to have as strongest armor as he can get with as much Stamina as possible.
Playing a druid is really fun both in PvE and PvP and basically you can’t get bored since you can change your build and game play anytime you please. Leveling a druid also goes quite easy and is advisable to start with the Feral Combat build. With a Druid you will be able to shape shift, run faster, swim faster, dive without the need to have an underwater breathing potion, etc. and all this is done instantly!
