Small Town Bike Ride Tradition
Where home is, the closer one gets to it, the more relaxed he or she feels. Living in a peaceful small town, where everyone knows and treat each other with respect and empathy can be a thrilling and memorable experience.
One of the reason why living in a small town is so enjoyable is how accessible everything is compared to the big cities.
Growing up, I use to live in the suburb of Saint Marc, Haiti, a small city full of fun and adventures. When thinking about it, the first thing that comes to mind is the memory of my friends and I riding around town all day on our bicycles. The world seemed close to us and we had the feeling that we could go as far as we could envisioned on those two wheels of ours. Sometimes, we got into troubles when we ventured too far out of our circle, which resulted in some of us getting hurt but the passion for bicycles and adventure that we shared kept us together.
Withing my family, all of us owned at least one bicycle. on Sundays, the whole family and some of our neighbors would go on bike rides to the beautiful lake two miles away from where I used to live. It is probably the most relaxing and memorable thing we did both as a family and a community.
During the summer, my friends and I would ride until the sun goes down. We did not have any worry and we never felt hungry on the road, which shows how passionate we were about riding our bicycle. I would encourage anyone to take this tradition of riding a bicycle with people who are dear to you, it will strengthen your relationship.
