Choosing a Paintball Marker
In the following article I will help you decide what paintball marker is for you! Ok first off before you go and buy your own equipment I suggest you go to a field and rent equipment for a day. Only because before you buy your own stuff you want to make sure you enjoy the game and will be playing some what often!
Ok first off before I begin I want to let you know that if you plan on going to sports authority or Wal-Mart to buy your gun don’t even bother reading this article. And if you want some professional advice I suggest that you don’t purchase one of those guns. The rental guns at the fields are better then the Wal-mart brand guns.
First off you need to decide what game you will be playing, woods-ball or speedball. And the reason you need to decide is because for woods-ball you will need a marker that shoots father and more accurate due to the large playing field. Now for speedball you need a smaller more compact marker that shoots fast and accurately. For speedball you don’t really need the distance due to the fact speedball fields are small and more compact.
Ok so lets begin now if you choose to play woods-ball I would recommend getting a tippmann they are very durable, accurate, and reliable. The price’s range from about $100.00 to $300.00 now I would recommend getting the tippmann a-5 which is the gun I still use till this day. Now granted I have upgrades on it. Fortunately I have had the opportunity to use all three tippmann markers and was very pleased with all three of them. No matter which tippmann you choice I’m sure you will be pleased and as your skill advances there are many upgrades you can add on to these markers which is another plus!
There are many other woods-ball markers out there but I have not had the opportunity to use them. If there is another marker you were looking into, I’m sure you can find reviews of that marker on the internet. Now if speedball is your game I would recommend a higher end gun from the $200.00 to $500.00 range. Try to get a marker were you will have good customer support, reliable company, good reviews, and overall a marker your comfortable with. Personally I like smart parts they are very good guns, many upgrades, good customer support, and there common guns so its likely your local pro shop knows a thing or two about them. Other good manufactures are invert mini, dye, bob long, proto, and planet eclipse.
Now a few things to keep in mind when choosing a marker are don’t rush into buying one just because its there in front of you. Find a gun that fits in your hands and feels good. And personally I would suggest buying the marker from your local paintball field because most likely if there nice people and most of them are, they will be glad to help you fix the marker in case something goes wrong. Even if they have to order it for you I would suggest it!
