Fedor Emelianenko Vs Brett Rogers – Great Fight With Expected Victor

The fight between Fedor Emelianenko and Brett Rogers took place this past Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Sears Centre Arena in Chicago. Both fighters were ready, both had quite a lot of fans and supporters. But the voices of fans of Fedor were little bit louder…

The story so far…

The viewers of this fight – the first one signed with the Strikeforce had some great expectations. First of all, Fedor is considered as the greatest MMA warrior and as such, he is supposed to fight in the top league – which is the UFC. But his decision was not to fight against the top Mixed martial arts fighters due to several promotion conditions.

Moreover, as the fight was organized by the Strikeforce, there were some doubts about the potential of Strikeforce (and Fedors M-1 Global) promotion possibilities. There is no doubt that the UFC fans do not recognize him as much as some other MMA fighters – like Tito Ortiz, Brock Lesnar and so on.

The fight…

The fight lasted two rounds and the first one was more interesting – mainly for the Brett. Both fighters started with kicks and punches and there was no “visible” victor. And then came the part, where Brett was massively attacking Fedor on the ground with loads of punches right to the face. For most hard fans of Fedor it was a prove, that it is really possible to beat “The Last Emperor”. But Fedor is worth his fame and he was able to grab the Brett’s hand and try for an armlock. The second round brought one big change. The director of second round was only Fedor Emelianenko and the fans could watch his talent. After short time he was able to prepare the Total KO by punches and the referee just had to stop the fight.

The future…

Brett is considered as the top MMA warrior fighting at the Strikeforce events (now apart from Fedor). But Fedor’s career at the Strikeforce is only at the very beginning and the question is – who is going to be his next oponent? There are of course more warriors at the Strikeforce events, but they are not at the level of Fedor. On the other hand, the gate to the UFC is (mostly) closed…

Well, we can expect some less interesting fights at some Strikeforce events or something unexpectable…
